Suunto Advizor Heart Rate Monitor

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Optimize your workout performance with the Advizor heart rate monitor watch from Suunto. This Polar-transmitter compatible watch features a heart rate reception range ranging from 20 to 240 bpm (beats per minute). The upper and lower limits are adjustable down to one-beat intervals (other watches have intervals of five beats) for a precise heart rate zone. An audible alarm alerts you whenever you drop below or exceed your target bpm. Using the Advizor’s countdown timer, you can set up interval training sessions so you can track your training intervals, your recovery intervals and the number of intervals during your workout. The heart rate monitor memory activates when you start the stopwatch or activate your interval timer, so you can store your total training time, your maximum, minimum and average heart rate during workouts, as well as the total times spent in, above and below your target heart rate zone. If your training sessions include workouts at altitude, the altimeter option displays your current altitude with vertical ascent/descent rate in meters per minute or feet per minute. It also records altitudes for measuring progress between stages and has an automatic 24-hour altitude memory with a logbook for altitude and ascent/descent rate information, and cumulative ascent/descent measurements. The barometer displays the atmospheric pressure (mbar/inHg) as well as the temperature. It also records the differences in measurements so you can quickly follow changes between barometric pressure and temperature during your outings. An automatic four-day memory records atmospheric pressure information and the watch features an adjustable sea-level pressure function. The compass function displays your bearing in degrees and features a north-south arrow. There are also options for bearing tracking and a declination adjustment. The Advizor also has three daily alarms and displays the day and date. Oh yeah–one more thing: It does a fine job keeping track of the time, too.
